Above are separate shots of stripping each side. I used a water based paste type paint remover and plastic paint scrapers. It required steel wool on the rivets. Each side took three applications. The roof had several coats of aluminum roofing tar. It was really a thick layer. It was a mess and took the longest to remove. I painted on the stripper then covered it with cardboard to help keep it from drying while it worked. I power washed the exterior to remove the stripper.
